The“Industry Awareness Program on financial support to MSMEs in ZED in Certification Scheme”organised at School of Management, conducted by Utkal Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Odisha in collaboration with QCI (Quality Council of India), New Delhi and CTTC, Bhubaneswar on 10th February, 2017 at Paralakhemundi Campus. The programme was organised for the owners of MSME. The program begun with the welcome address by Dr. Anita Patra, Dean, Change Management & Faculty Development, SoM, Convener of the program. She emphasized that CUTM believes in engaging with the stakeholders and communities. Hence, already a lot of Entrepreneurship Development initiatives have been taken up by the University. Gram Tarang is an Social Entrepreneurial outreach of the University. Dr. B.P.Mishra, Dean, School of Engineering & Technology, CUTM spoke about making no defects items by MSMEs. Shri. Rajen Padhi, Director General, Utkal Chamber of Commerce & Industry spoke about the greatness of Gajapati district and Maharaja Gajapati. Being a native of this place he wanted to do this ZED programme so that the owners of MSME of this district get benefitted. In the technical session Dr. S. K. Kar, Senior Scientist, CTTC focused on ZERO DEFFECT- ZERO EFFECT objectives of the participants for profit maximisation. The objective of the programme was to motivate the owners of MSME to go for ZED rating and certification. He discussed about the parameters on which the ZED rating is based and the financial support to MSMEs in ZED certification. The first of its kind awareness program is greeted with more than 60 young entrepreneurs of the district. Participants urged the dignitaries and officials for more of these kind programs on a regular basis.

The workshop was successfully completed with the Vote of Thanks by Prof. Kalee Prasanna Pattanaik, Co-convener of the program. Faculty members, Staff & Students of MBA Development Management supported in organising the event.
