Operation Theatre Technology

About Department:

As a professional in Operation Theater Technology, the candidates will be trained qualitatively, will be motivated and attitudinally prepared to work at any hospital to discharge the highest quality of professional services. He/she forms an intrinsic part of any hospital with responsibility for facilitating surgical procedures both emergency and planned by preparing and maintaining in advance the Operation Theatre. He/she also looks after all the work and management of the operation theatre with good knowledge on anaesthesia techniques for different type of patients and different types of surgical procedures to assist Anaesthesia and Surgery teams during pre-operative and post-operative periods in the recovery room and wards.

Achievements:
  • SoPAHS, under the “Health and Family Welfare Department” has got the approval for a clinical establishment and has inaugurated “Community Diagnostic Centre” (with registration no. 38/2019/Khordha). The diagnostic centre is currently providing diagnostic services in and around its locality.
  • SoPAHS is a NSDC approved skill development training center for a number of paramedics and allied health science courses.
  • SoPAHS and Gram Tarang Employment Training Services (GTETS) in CUTM Bhubaneswar have jointly implemented 3 CSR projects in partnership with Wipro GE Healthcare Institute (GEHCI), SBI Foundation Grant (SBIFG) and Union Bank of India Foundation Grant (UBIFG).
  • A pilot project “Up-skilling & Re-skilling of ANMs in Odisha” for Auxiliary Nurse Midwives (ANMs) funded by Odisha Skill Development Authority, Govt. of Odisha has been also carried out by SoPAHS and GTETS.
  • SoPAHS is engaged in community based public health & nutrition research projects aligning to UN Sustainable Development Goals 2 & 3 and Situational assessment of Paramedical and Allied Health Science scenario in 3 states (Odisha, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh) aligning to health sector industry workforce needs through active participation of students and faculty.
  • SoPAHS and GTETS in CUTM Bhubaneswar, along with GE Health care have also successfully trained students for OTAT technician course.
  • SoPAHS and GTETS with HPCL sponsored skill development training have trained 50 hearing impaired students in MLT course.
  • SoPAHS coordinates, supports and creates interactive opportunities for its students with international University students through University Exchange programs on the paramedical and allied health science.
  • SoPAHS is also providing skill courses to the University students to blend in the culture of interdisciplinary learning into the curriculum.
Seminars & Workshops:
  • Seminar by Dr. Sikata Nanda (Associate Prof., Dept.of SPM; SCBMCH, Cuttack), on “Biomedical Waste Management” was held on 30th August, 2019.
  • A seminar session was conducted on 26th July, 2019, were Dr. Satya Ranjan Sahu; Dr. Sudhakar Reddy; Prof. Sonali Dash briefed students on “Common Diseses in Rainy Season”.
  • Monali Priyadarsini Mishra (Asst. Prof; AMIT College, Khordha) had delievered a seminar on “Diagnostic Bacteriology” on 21st December, 2019.
  • An FDP on “Basic Instrumentation in Medical Diagnostic Laboratory” was conducted on 12th Dec, 2019, which was facilitated by Prof. Sunil Kumar Jha (Dean, SoPAHS; CUTM).

At Centurion University we believe in imparting skills at early age. Keeping this in mind we offer Bachelor Degree course in Business Administration to train and impart skill to students after their formal 12th class Degree is over

In this program we offer both core and optional subjects related to management. The objective is to shape the career of the younger members of the society by providing them a clear-cut knowledge and helping them to get employed.

The course of BBA may be viewed as an intermediate step towards in integrated master’s course in management. It aims at catering to the demand for the skilled and chiselled management professional in the industry in general and at all levels in the world of Indian business in particular.

The teaching and learning philosophy of the BBA program are driven by the focus on students as learners, and creating a peer-to-peer learning environment which maximizes their potential. Therefore, in every course we teach, independent of the content of the course, we strive to create environments whereby students are motivated to take part as members of this learning community. This objective is achieved through class participation, expository writing, creation of e-learning tools, projects, problem-based learning, and assignments, etc. All the courses are designed and evaluated for rigor in terms of difficulty level, skills acquired, and improvement in communication ability. Another unique feature of the program is the industry interface: Action Learning Project. Groups of three to four students engage with local companies to submit professional quality reports and analysis. This offers students significant first-hand exposure to the real corporate work environment.

Fishery Science

About Department

CUTM is the first private university in Odisha which was established through the CUTM Act 4 of the Odisha State Legislative Assembly in 2010. In due course, it has got recognition as Grade-A University by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), Ministry of HRD (Annex 1) and 12 B status by UGC (Annex 2). The objectives of CUTM are shaping lives, empowering communities and co-creating wealth and livelihood opportunities in Left Wing Extremism (LWE) affected districts of South Odisha and North Coastal Andhra Pradesh. Teaching, training, consulting and research activities of the university are geared towards employability enhancement, employment generation through entrepreneurship development and preparing graduates for higher education. The University offers its education, training and other services through different Schools.

CUTM has five campuses at Paralakhemundi, Bhubaneswar, Bolangir, Rayagada and ChatrapurIt has more than 9,000 students in Under graduate and post graduate programs. It imparts employable skills to over 20,000 students annually in vocational programs.

The school of Fisheries is the only private institution in the fisheries sector in the State of Odisha imparting an undergraduate professional degree programme, Bachelor of Fisheries Science (B.F.Sc). The degree program started in the year 2017.The school is located at Parlakhemundi,Odisha.

Academics

The curriculum of the course is consistent with that of the other fisheries colleges in India, it is based on the recommendation of the Dean’s Committee Report organized by ICAR based on the needs of the fisheries industry of the country.Currently the school is offering various courses related Fisheries which are taught in 5 departments. A total of 180 credit hours are presently offered to the students, out of which 140 credits hours is covered from 1st to 6th Semester the remaining 0 + 20 credit hour and 0 + 20 credit hours are offered to students during the 7th and 8th semesters under Experiential Learning and In-plant Training respectively. The school also invites visiting faculties from research institutes, academics and industries in order to familiarize the students to the latest developments in the field of fisheries

The school has well developed intensive fish rearing units like RAS, Biofloc Unit, Ponds, Ornamental Units etc

There is a great demand of professional fisheries graduates, several public and private sector units engaged in fisheries and aquaculture activities are employing fisheries graduates. Further they have scopes in State fisheries department, banking sector and Administrative sector.

About Department

Department of Chemistry offers a high-quality application-oriented Bachelors, Masters, M.Phil and Ph.D. programs in Applied Sciences. Master program in Chemistry makes the department a booming center of excellence in teaching, curriculum development, cutting-edge research and popularizing Chemistry. The department also takes different initiatives to make various collaborations with other university and research organizations for the promotion of research activities. The department would like to attain a wide recognition in research and teaching in chemical sciences . In addition to that the department also strives to contribute to industry and addresses problems of societal importance. Moreover, the department also focuses to popularize chemical sciences by different outreach activities that chemistry education activities that showcase the role of Chemistry as an essential science.
The above programs started in the years 2012 and 2015 respectively. These programs are offered from four campuses of the University, namely, Paralakhemundi, Bhubaneswar, Bolangir and Rayagada. In keeping with the skill orientation of the University, these programs are application oriented with strong skill integration.The School of Applied Sciences (SoAS) offers Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) program for 3 years, Master of Science (M.Sc.) program for 2 years and M. Phil for 1 years.
Interdepartmental Collaborations:
Besides these programs, the University also offers courses in inter-disciplinary areas of JITM +2 Science(CHSE & CBSE), Bachelor and Masters programs in Management, Computer Applications and Vocational disciplines (ITI) of the (GTET & Skill Developments).The syllabi of the programmes are duly approved by the Academic Councils of the University under guidance and participation of academic institutions of repute such as NISER, IIT, R&D and industry partners like Infosys, TCS and the like. As a matter of policy, The syllabi are periodically reviewed and updated every three years. The review of B.Sc. Honours programmes are being undertaken this year under this policy.
