Computerized Numerical Controller (CNC)

Course Objective: The objective of this subject is to provide hands-on technical training to students with focus on production & manufacturing of auto components& aerocompnents.For training purpose CNC Turning & Milling machines will also be provided. Practical training will be conducted in Gram TarangCNC Workshopof the university to prepare student for a professional career.

Intended Learning Outcomes:
 Upon completion of the subject, students will be able to:

  1. Understand about Industrial Manufacturing and Production, its use &application in the industries.
  2. Understand Fundamentals of Control Panel and Air Compressor of   CNC lathe/milling.
  3. Know about CNC Lathe/Milling Machine Operations, Hydraulic systems and Function of ATC.
  4. Do the basic manufacturing process for tools & components
  5. Understand basic functions, working principle of CNC Lathe/Milling & their need in the various industries
  6. Understand basic knowledge about the CAM software of CNC/Milling Lathe present in the market.

    Programme Outcomes 3: This subject contributes to the programme outcome through practical training in student groups. Students should be able to practise and demonstrate their team work skill, realise the needs for leadership, critical thinking ability and creativity through working with others to realise the projects that are encountered in practical training.

    Programme Outcome 4: This subject contributes to the programme outcome through induction and practical training in a recognized professional training centre. Professional practice, ethics and responsibility as demanded by the industries can be observed through the process in training and the operation of the training centre.

Project Work on Strap Clamp, T Nut, Stud & Hexagonal Nut by using CNC machine

Test will be designed to facilitate students to review the breadth and depth of their understanding on specific topics troughPractical test & viva-voce.
