The Research Centre for Waste to Wealth Management, Centurion University of Technology and Management, was established in the year 2020 with the vision of promoting sustainable waste management and transforming waste materials into valuable resources through innovation, research, and skill-based practices. The centre focuses on developing eco-friendly technologies and products from different types of waste such as plastic, paper, agricultural residue, biowaste, and e-waste. It works in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and aims to create a cleaner, greener, and self-sustainable environment. The research centre actively engages students, researchers, and faculty members in hands-on learning, product development, waste recycling, resource recovery, and entrepreneurship activities.
Various innovative initiatives including handmade paper production, eco-friendly packaging, sewage treatment optimization, fabric production from biowaste, and waste-based construction materials are being carried out under the centre. Through its interdisciplinary approach, the centre not only contributes to environmental protection and circular economy practices but also empowers students with practical skills and research opportunities for sustainable development.
To become a centre of excellence in sustainable waste management through innovative research, technology development, skill enhancement, and community engagement by transforming waste into valuable resources and promoting a circular economy for a greener future. The centre envisions creating a Zero Waste Campus at Centurion University of Technology and Management through effective waste segregation, recycling, reuse, and resource recovery practices.
