Tracking Women’s Access Metrics for Gender Equality
Centurion University is committed to SDG 5: Gender equality monitors women`s application, entry, and study completion rates. We recognize the importance of monitoring and addressing any disparities in these metrics to ensure that our institution is inclusive and supportive of women’s academic success. The University has an in-house developed Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software through which it systematically tracks and measures women’s application rate, acceptance rate, and graduation rate as part of our commitment to gender equality and diversity. Specifically, our university tracks:
- Application rate: The number of female applicants compared to male applicants.
- Acceptance rate: The number of female students accepted compared to male students accepted.
- Entry rate: The number of female students who enroll compared to male students who enroll.
- Graduation rate: The number of female students who graduate compared to male students who graduate.
In the year 2021-2022, the total number of women who applied was 1549 in Bachelor’s including Diploma and the number of women admitted to the University was 40% of the total women applied which is reasoned to their ability to qualify for the University’s entrance examination and exercising choices in different courses across different disciplines. The number of women applicants increased to 1565 in the academic year 2022-2023. Subsequently, the number rose to 1911 in 2023-2024.
The University uses this data to:
- Identify potential areas for improvement
- Develop targeted initiatives to support women’s recruitment, retention, and success
- Evaluate the effectiveness of these initiatives
- Inform policy and decision-making to promote gender equality
By systematically tracking and analyzing these metrics, our university demonstrates its commitment to creating a more inclusive and equitable environment for women to succeed.
