About The Programme
The B.F.Sc. (Hons.) program is designed to build professional competency in the field of fisheries and aquaculture through a perfect blend of theoretical knowledge and hands-on training. Students are trained in key areas such as Aquaculture, Fisheries Resource Management, Aquatic Animal Health Management, Aquatic Environment Management, Fish Processing Technology, Fisheries Engineering and Fisheries Extension, Economics and Statistics. The program is supported by modern facilities including well-equipped laboratories, aquaculture research farm, hatcheries, Recirculating Aquaculture System (RAS) and Biofloc units, ornamental fish culture units, aquaponics, and fish processing and value addition units. To provide industry exposure and practical skills, the school collaborates with leading research organizations and industries. Students gain experiential learning in key areas like carp breeding, fish product development, and farm management through Student Ready Program. The students are encouraged to promote their technical and entrepreneurial skill through domain and skill courses offered by the University.
