About the University

The journey of Centurion University of Technology and Management (CUTM) began in the year 2005 by a group of ambitious academics with aspirations to provide high quality education both nationally and internationally. The first step in this direction was to take over an ailing engineering Institute, the Jagannath Institute for Technology and Management (JITM) in one of the most challenging tribal districts of Odisha and one which was considered to be a left-wing extremist affected area. Subsequently, JITM was transformed into Centurion University of Technology and Management in August 2010, through an act of Odisha Legislative Assembly. It became the First Multi-Sector State Private University in Odisha.

From the inception, Centurion University's DNA has been “Shaping lives and empowering communities”. The University has focused on ‘hands-on’, ‘experience based’, ‘practice oriented’ learning that makes a difference through appropriate and relevant innovation and action research. While promoting Nano, Mini and Micro Enterprises, the University works toward learning experiences that are ‘quantifiable’, ‘sustainable’, ‘scalable’ and ‘replicable’.

The University has five campuses and a number of social entrepreneurial outreach wings that, along with collaborating institutions and networks, form its ecosystem. The campuses are located at Paralakhemundi, Bhubaneswar, Rayagada, Bolangir and Chatrapur which house a number of Schools. They are: M. S. Swaminathan School of Agriculture, School of Allied Health Sciences and Paramedics, School of Architecture and Planning, School of Basic Sciences, School of Engineering and Technology, School of Management, School of Media and Communication, School of Pharmacy and Life Sciences, School of Vocational Education and Training and the Institute of Knowledge Societies.

CUTM Partners with JITCO(Japanese International Training Cooperation Organization) for Implementation of Technical Intern Training Program (New)

Embassy of India, Tokyo, in collaboration with Japan International Training Cooperation Organization (JITCO), hosted the ‘India Seminar on Technical Intern Training Programme (TITP)’ on 28 August 2017. As part of Record of Discussion (RoD) between Directorate General of Training, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) and JITCO, Government of India has accredited five Sending Organizations (namely CII, ASSOCHAM, NSDC, Teamlease and Centurion University) to dispatch technical interns to Japan under TITP.

In the seminar, Prof. (Dr.) Mukti Kanta Mishra, President, Centurion University, addressed the participants from Japanese Receiving Organizations regarding the abundant human resource potential of India and how it can contribute to the TITP for the mutual benefit of India and Japan. Mr. Kunna Dash, CUTM’s Japan representative provided invaluable support by translating to Japanese language, showcasing Centurion’s intention and preparedness to dispatch Indian technical interns to Japan under the TITP.

H.E. Mr. Sujan R. Chinoy, Ambassador of India to Japan, Dr. K.P. Krishnan, Secretary of MSDE and Mr. Asheesh Sharma, DGT/JS MSDE also graced the seminar with their presence and keynote address. The seminar provided a great platform for Japanese Supervising Organisations, Implementing Organisations and Chambers of Commerce to interact with the accredited Indian Sending Organisations as well as for business matching between the two sides.
