The School of Allied and Healthcare Sciences (SoAHS) at Centurion University offers a diverse range of programs designed to prepare students for careers in healthcare, diagnostics, and clinical research. The school emphasizes practical learning, enabling students to gain experience in blood sample collection, diagnostic tests, laboratory techniques, and patient care procedures. Students also engage in research and development activities, contributing to healthcare advancements. The SoAHS actively engages in community outreach programs to promote healthcare awareness and accessibility. These initiatives include free health check-up camps, diagnostic screenings, and awareness campaigns focused on preventive healthcare. The university collaborates with several Hospitals, local healthcare centers, NGOs, and government bodies to organize these programs, ensuring that underserved communities receive essential medical attention.
The university regularly organizes multispecialty health camps in rural areas, offering free consultations, diagnostic services, and basic treatments. These camps focus on maternal and child health, communicable disease control, nutrition awareness, and lifestyle disease prevention. The students actively participate in these programs, gaining real-world exposure while serving the community.
A significant partnership of the university is with Essilor, a Franco-Italian multinational corporation that is the World’s largest manufacturer of ophthalmic lenses and a leader in eyewear and vision care. to provide vision screening services and free spectacles distribution. This collaboration aims to address vision-related issues, especially in rural and economically weaker sections. Students and faculty conduct eye screening camps, identify refractive errors, and provide corrective lenses to those in need, improving the quality of life for many individuals.
Through these outreach activities, the School of Allied and Healthcare Sciences not only contributes to public health but also trains students in real-life medical scenarios. These programs align with Centurion University’s mission of skill-integrated education, ensuring graduates are well-equipped for community health, diagnostic services, and clinical practice.
