Centurion University’s Commitment to SDG Education through Community Outreach Programs
1.Outreach Educational Activities:-
- Healthcare Outreach:-Centurion University of Technology and Management, on October 20, 2023 organized a ‘Cancer & No Tobacco Awareness Program and Screening Camp’, in collaboration with the Cuttack- based Awaaken Cancer Care Trust, provided screening services and educational sessions led by medical professionals, including oncologists. Participants learned about cancer prevention and the impact of tobacco, highlighting the importance of early detection.
This Cancer and No Tobacco Awareness Program and Screening Camp initiative primarily addresses SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being – The primary focus of the program is to enhance health outcomes by providing cancer screenings and raising awareness about the harmful effects of tobacco use. SDG 4: Quality Education – The educational component of the program promotes knowledge about cancer prevention and the dangers of tobacco, facilitating community education on these critical health issues. SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities – By providing free health screenings and education to underserved populations, the program works to reduce health disparities and ensure equitable access to health resources .SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals – The collaboration with the Awaaken Cancer Care Trust emphasizes the importance of partnerships in addressing health challenges and implementing effective community health initiatives.

- Healthy and Sustainable Agricultural Outreach for rural villagers including tribal communities and scheduled castes, scheduled tribes and other backward classes (OBC).
Centurion provides ongoing hands-on training in sustainable Agricultural practices such as Organic Farming, Dairy Farming, Fishery, water-efficient irrigation techniques and climate-resilient crop management etc., at Paralakhemudi campus.
This primarily contributes to SDG 2: Zero Hunger by teaching sustainable farming practices that boost crop yields, improve food security, and promote healthy nutrition..
- Kisan Mela:
Centurion University’s Kisan Mela is a flagship event aimed at fostering sustainable agricultural practices by providing local farmers with hands-on training, exposure to the latest farming technologies, and access to expert advice for enhancing productivity and income.
