- Mentoring Programs: The university has a dedicated and tailored mentoring policy that has a profound impact on student success. Our university’s mentoring policy provides a supportive framework for students including females to connect with experienced mentors who offer guidance, encouragement, and valuable insights.
In 2023, Centurion University witnessed 100% participation of female students in our mentoring system and sessions.
The policy is designed to:
- Provide regular, structured mentoring sessions for all students.
- Foster meaningful relationships between mentors and mentees.
- Enhance students’ academic performance, self-awareness, and confidence.
- Promote social-emotional learning, resilience, and well-being.
- Foster academic growth and development
- Enhance career readiness and exploration
- Develop soft skills and confidence
- Provide a sense of belonging and connection
- Address specific needs and challenges faced by underrepresented groups, including women
Mentors and mentees meet regularly to discuss progress, challenges, and opportunities. Mentors receive training and resources to ensure they’re equipped to support their mentees effectively. Regular assessments ensure the mentoring program meets its objectives and identify areas for improvement. As part of our commitment to providing holistic education and support, our school recognizes the importance of mentoring in fostering students’ academic, personal, and social growth. We propose integrating dedicated mentoring time into our school timetable to ensure consistent and effective mentoring. Each school has a dedicated time slot of one hour weekly for mentoring sessions. Each session includes group discussions, one-on-one meetings, and activities. The University Mentoring policy provides regular training and support for mentors and maintains a 1:10 mentor-mentee ratio.
By integrating dedicated mentoring time into our school timetable, we demonstrate our commitment to supporting students’ overall development. This structured approach ensures consistent, meaningful mentoring relationships, empowering students to reach their full potential.
- Scholarship:
The “Chandrika Scholarship” is presented by Centurion University of Technology and Management– an initiative dedicated to empowering and supporting female students in fields where they are underrepresented. This scholarship is a commitment to breaking gender barriers and promoting diversity in traditionally male-dominated disciplines.
The limitless potential of all students, regardless of their gender, is believed in us, and the Chandrika Scholarship is our way of offering both financial assistance and encouragement to women pursuing their academic dreams. It’s not just a scholarship; it’s a message that celebrates women’s contributions to education and beyond. In the past five years, disciplines such as Mechanical Engineering and Mining Engineering had zero female students. The introduction of this scholarship has resulted in the enrollment of one female student in Mining Engineering and two female students in Mechanical Engineering.
