Free and Paid Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare Services for Students
Sexual and reproductive health care service:
Free Women’s Health Consultations
The University also facilitates free Gynaecological consultations at all the campuses during International Women’s Day held on 8th March each year to create awareness among students and staff members on the importance of hygiene conditions. It also helps enable them to seek health care without financial constraints, thereby fostering a safer and healthier campus environment.
The University offers free gynaecological consultations at a very minimal cost to its students and staff members. Access to gynaecological care is essential for the prevention, early detection, and management of numerous reproductive health conditions. Centurion Ayurveda Wellness Centre provides affordable therapy and treatment for its female students by experienced female consultants.
Free awareness sessions on Sexual health:
In the wake of the need to educate women on sexual and reproductive health care, the University regularly conducts free sessions on maintaining health and preventing sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), unintended pregnancies, and Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV).
The University, in partnership with its industry collaborator Gap Inc., conducts workshops and training sessions aimed at educating women. P.A.C.E. Training—Personal Advancement & Career Enhancement—was established as a progressive initiative aimed at developing positive sexual and reproductive health awareness in the workplace.
Free access to sexual and reproductive health education ensures that students receive the knowledge they need to stay healthy. This includes awareness of comprehensive sexual and reproductive health education, including education on consent, sexual violence prevention, and healthy relationships. It empowers students to make informed decisions about their bodies and fosters a culture of respect and safety. By addressing the aspects of contraception, STI testing, sexual education, and counselling, Centurion University helps prevent serious health issues and promote physical and mental well-being.
The University has also recently hosted a session focused on “Female Adolescent Self-Care and Healthy Habits”. This initiative was designed to empower young women by creating awareness about self-care practices, mental health, and sustainable lifestyle choices that contribute to overall well-being. This session conducted by Dr. Purarama Pradhan (Rtd. Chief Medical Officer, Specialist in Maternity and Child Health) aimed to provide accurate and age-appropriate health education to female adolescents, ensuring they are well informed about their bodies and the changes they experience during adolescence.
The University is also offering sessions in Yoga and Panchakarma to promote holistic health and well-being. Guided by the principles of the Indian Knowledge System (IKS), these sessions educate students on traditional health practices, including a focus on sexual and reproductive health care. By integrating ancient wisdom with modern awareness, we aim to foster a balanced approach to wellness that is rooted in Indian culture and supports students’ overall development.
