Sustainable Goals
What are the Sustainable Development Goals?
In a call to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure that all people enjoy peace and prosperity by 2030, the United Nations adopted The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in 2015.
Also known as the Global Goals, there are 17 SDGs which are integrated and action in any one area may impact the outcomes in the others.
The SDGs are designed to end poverty, hunger, AIDS, discrimination against women and girls, and acknowledges that development must balance social, economic and environmental sustainability.
Technology, knowledge transfer, creativity and financial resources from all aspects of society, as well as collaboration between developed and under-developed nations, is necessary to achieve the successful fruition of the SDGs in every context.
