Dr. Deepak Kumar Sahu

Dr. Deepak Kumar Sahu (Ph.D., NIT Rourkela; M.Tech., VSSUT Burla; B.Tech., CET Bhubaneswar) is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at Centurion University of Technology and Management, Bhubaneswar, where he has been serving since 2021. His teaching and research interests focus on structural dynamics, vibration control, stochastic seismic response of buildings and bridges, blast- induced vibration mitigation, and innovative construction materials. He has authored and co-authored numerous publications in high-impact international journals and conferences, including Engineering Structures (Elsevier), Journal of Bridge Engineering (ASCE), and Springer’s Advances in Civil Engineering.

Dr. Sahu’s doctoral research cantered on the stochastic seismic response of buildings and bridges using non-statistical approaches, developing fragility curves and advanced metamodel techniques for uncertainty modelling. His M.Tech. work contributed significantly to the study of energy dissipation devices for vibration control, exploring the effectiveness of friction, viscoelastic, and viscous dampers under blast loads. Over the years, he has collaborated with leading researchers and guided student projects in structural analysis, material innovation, and smart city solutions.

Beyond research, Dr. Sahu actively participates in faculty development programs, workshops, and professional training, including capacity-building programs for engineers in the Panchayati Raj Department. He has also served as an organizer and coordinator of academic and industry-linked events at CUTM, strengthening the bridge between classroom learning and practical application. His multidisciplinary contributions reflect his commitment to advancing sustainable, resilient, and technology- driven practices in civil and structural engineering.
