The Diploma in Forensic DNA Analysis is designed to provide learners with a comprehensive understanding of DNA-based forensic techniques and their applications in criminal justice, research, and allied sciences. The programme equips students with the foundational principles of molecular biology, genetics, and forensic applications of DNA profiling.
The curriculum is structured to balance theory and practice, with:
- 5 months of online learning covering theoretical foundations, case studies, and interactive simulations.
- 1 month of offline hands-on training, where students gain practical exposure to laboratory techniques such as DNA extraction, quantification, PCR amplification, electrophoresis, sequencing, and interpretation of DNA evidence.
This blended mode ensures accessibility while maintaining rigorous skill development.
Duration
6 months (5 months online + 1 month offline)
Bachelor’s degree in any Science; Pursuing students of B.Sc. and M.Sc. of Forensic Science, Biotechnology, Zoology, Botany, prosecution Officers, Judiciary Officers, Investigating Officers.
- Forensic DNA Analyst in Forensic Science Laboratories (FSL/CFSL).
- Crime Laboratory Specialist focusing on DNA profiling and evidence analysis.
- Research Assistant/Associate in genetics, biotechnology, and biomedical labs.
- Quality Control Analyst in molecular diagnostic labs.
- Technical Consultant in private forensic and legal consultancies.
